Antibacklash feature for ElectroCraft stepper based linear motors

Dover, NH — (March 24, 2009)

ElectroCraft today announced the release of the improved anti-backlash feature to compliment their AxialPowerTM Plus,  Linear Actuator and Leadscrew Stepper Motor line. Simple and reliable wave springs provide a low cost solution while providing concentric loading for the new anti-backlash feature from ElectroCraft. This new product is available immediately for global delivery.

“Many critical applications require very precise positioning in both the extend and retract cycles of the linear stroke. Some anti-backlash designs available on the market today are intricate and expensive. The ElectroCraft solution provides a low cost yet effective way to control backlash when an application requires accurate positioning with change of direction” says Rob Kerber, Vice President of Marketing at ElectroCraft. “Engineers needing increased positional accuracy or added smoothness to a specific direction of stroke will appreciate the control established with the ElectroCraft anti-backlash feature.” The ElectroCraft anti-backlash feature compliments the line of stepper based linear motors which will be available as part of the ElectroCraft GoFigure Motor Program. The GoFigure Motor Program allows customers to select from a variety of pre-engineered motor options and configurations to reduce the development cycle and improve their time-to-market. The web-based motor configuration tool can be found at www.gofigureamotor.com or www.electrocraft.com.

In addition to their robust design, the ElectroCraft anti-backlash feature also delivers:

  • Exceptional control and positional accuracy in bi-directional applications
  • Precise linear resolution
  • Smooth axial motion
  • High efficiency
  • Wide range of product available with this feature
